General Hours
The hours are wide ranging and sporadic. I will be in the Adelsperger Wrestling Complex for meetings with the staff but will also be working from home and traveling to tournaments around the state and country to recruit.
Main Duties
-Contact potential recruits that meet our recruiting needs (established by Coach Minnard) and get them established in our recruit pipeline.
-Develop relationships with potential recruits.
-Perform phone calls with recruits.
-Be a point of contact for information for recruits and their parents.
-Encourage recruits to apply and schedule campus visits.
-Assist HC Minnard and GA Hites on campus visits.
-Travel to tournaments to recruit.
-Watch Tiffin competition film and record statistics as well as perform analysis.
-Clip highlights from competition film and give to HC Minnard to be used for media.
-Analyze competition film (qualitatively and quantitatively) to identify trends, KPIs, and recommend corrections.
Compensation
This is a volunteer position.
Specific Goals
-Gain a more complete understanding of the operations of a Women's Collegiate wrestling team.
-Thoroughly understand the recruiting process.
-Develop a "Best Practices" Guide for recruiting.
-Develop a Recruit pipeline flowchart and testable model with specific phases and concrete steps and actions.
-Gain a better understanding for how statistics and quantitative analysis can be useful in amateur wrestling.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- I expect to learn more about the internal operations of a Collegiate Women's wrestling team.
- I expect to improve my written and verbal communication skills through communication with recruits, fellow coaches, and parents.
- I expect to learn more about the collegiate admissions process as I help recruits.
- I expect to learn more about Tiffin University and higher education in general as I help recruits apply and gain admission to the university.
- I expect to learn more about NCAA guidelines.
- I expect to learn more about sport-specific and wrestling-specific management and operational issues.
